Sailing Season is Here. Join Us for a Sail!

Foot Stompin’ Music

What a hot day!!  The breezes were playing peek-a-boo with us.

We had a delightful sail on our 11:00 sail with a cool breeze from the Bay. On the 2nd and 3rd cruise, the breeze was less consistent, but we found a way to keep cool with the 5th sail aboard. The D-Sail (diesel).

By the sunset sail a breeze had picked up from the NW and there was cloud cover overhead. How delightful! The musicians tonight were The Roadside Show, a fun band with guitar, washboard, bongos, harmonica and more (with just 2 people). They have a terrific New Orleans funk sound, with great harmonies. I especially loved how they would sing about the light, and then the sun came out of a cloud. Great music.

And then to our surprise, the young woman sitting near me asked if she thought they would let her play a song. I asked her if it would be an original (not a cover tune). She said, “of course.” The band let her play… and I got goosebumps. Her name is Emily Brooke and she was terrific. She said that she was getting ready for her audition for “THE VOICE” in New York City, where she performs with her band.

These music cruises are so much fun and a terrific way to explore the genres of music. Come aboard and have some fun!
