Sam’s Last Day and a Variety of Vessels

Sam explains how to stay on course.

Sam is going back to college (Virginia Tech).  He will be missed.  All crew know how to sail before being hired.  We teach them how to adapt that knowledge to our vessel and the details of the business.  We have watched him grow from a newbie to a valuable crew member.  Here you can see him helping guests understand how to use stay on course.  Best of luck at school, Sam.

Cruisers come in all sizes and shapes and in this case all colors.  Look carefully on the right side of the vessel and see the wind generator to recharge their batteries while “on the hook” (at anchor).  Their inflatable dink is carefully stowed on the fore-deck.

The Navy is replacing their aging wooden practice boats called Yard Patrol (YP).  Here we see one of the new vessels from the stern.

Osprey are intelligent birds of prey.  We have been watching the parents teach their chicks how to fly and hunt.  In a few weeks they will head out and spend the winter in South America.

Osprey is keeping a watchful eye on us.
