Today we had 2 sails on Woodwind II. A crew match race with the other Woodwind and a sunset shmooze cruise with dinner.
For the Crew Match Race, a client privately charters both boats and we have the guests help us to win the race. We will have them switch their weight, tack the fisherman sail, watch for moves on the other boat, holding out sails, being a lookout and more.
The group I had did great. However, Ken’s team played every wind shift correctly. They got to the first mark first and only increased their gain over the 2 hours. They thoroughly enjoyed it, even though they said they would be picked on by their bosses today. Hopefully tomorrow will be smooth sailing at the office!
On the sunset sail we had a company that was taking out their clients for a thank you cruise. They had full dinner, beer and wine. It was a perfect night for everyone to socialize, try a turn at the helm, and to witness one of the prettiest sunsets of the year. We even had fireworks from the USNA pep rally going on at the yard. Magical.
