Today we had the perfect night for learning how to take amazing photos on the water. Roger Miller hosted a Photography Workshop aboard the Woodwind. It was fun, as the captain, watching a group of 25 people rotate around to catch the perfect picture.
I also had fun trying to place the boat in the best spot to catch all the best of photos of the races on Thursday nights. Getting on the sunny side of one fleet’s start was beautiful and then to sail to the other course 500 feet away for a back-lit view of a race start was challenging, but we timed it perfectly.
They brought a fish eye lens for the workshop and let guests use it for some of their photos. Our crew member, Charlotte, got an interesting view from it.
A beautiful sunset concluded the event with all the spinnakers from the race boats.
Hope to do more of these next year.
