I only worked one sail today, the Wednesday Night Race. Wow! It was so much cooler on the Bay!
During the race we saw 8-15 knots of wind. We picked a perfect racecourse that ended with enough time for the guests to take a turn at the helm. We had a bunch of young kids on the boat that wanted to help, especially when it came to steering the boat after the race.
I had a terrific start, great boat speed, but perhaps I got complacent. My Dad has been waiting a long time to yell inside buoy room. I;m usually the one that tries for that first. This time, I was blind sided by the concept.
