The Woodwind crew got a taste of spring today. Naw, we didn’t have the warm southerlies that are the hopes and dreams of Chesapeake sailors…we fully welcomed the rainy season on the bay with an escalating NNE breeze! The first trip featured 10 Texans, fresh off a Saturday Quiet Waters wedding, into a Sunday Stormy Waters sail! Woodwind flew 4 sails outbound, and struck the fisherman for the ride home. We got a good look at the Laser races; those sailors are hardcore! For the 1500 sail, we had Katrina (she brought the rain again 😉 and Scott of Vienna, VA aboard. They were celebrating Scott’s birthday with an adventure! The boat was averaging 9 knots! The crew was stoked on the spring winds; it’s great to be sailing the boat again.
