Schooner Woodwind

Thank you for a great sailing season. See you in April 2025!

“Oh, say can you see….”

This Fourth was spectacular!  We left the dock at 6:30 PM and, with a fresh breeze, headed for the Bay Bridges.

On the foredeck looking at the Bay Bridges.

The first Bridge was completed in 1952.  The second Bridge was completed in 1973.  Our crew member, Charlotte, uniquely captured the Bridges posing dramatically in a setting sun.

Great study in black and white.

In fact, all the photos are the result of her keen artistic eye.  The sail alone, would have been sufficient for a great day.

We then anchored near the Navy Station which was originally Fort Madison, built to protect us from British invasion.  How appropriate to watch “bombs bursting in air” over what is now the Naval Academy, but during the War of 1812 was Fort Severn.  Enjoy the show!

Cooooool!
