This was our last Music Thursday of the season. But that did not stop us from enjoying 3 great sails today. Starting out it looked as if we weren’t going to have much wind, but as we came out of the harbor the wind picked up as we headed for the bay. The number of guests were light but we made up for it with lots of enthusiastic sailors.
On our 1st trip Shawn and his family were out with us from Va. Shawn had gotten the trip for his birthday. Taking a turn at the helm he enjoyed the trip thoroughly. He and his family are frequent sailors and come out with us all the time. Happy Belated Birthday Shawn.
On our 2nd trip we got to meet a very special couple. They were out celebrating their 16th wedding anniversary.(Congratulations). Mike and Jennie were married aboard the Schooner Woodwind 16 years ago tomorrow,9.28.12. What better way to celebrate than to go sailing on the boat you got married on. They had so much fun they turned right around and came back out with us on our sunset sail this evening. It was a pleasure to meet you both.
On our sunset sail we had the wonderful Deanna Dove out to entertain us with her Songs of the Chesapeake. And it was a perfect night for music. The winds were light and the boat was just drifting out toward the bay and the sounds of Deanna’s voice and guitar were clear all over the boat. What an enjoyable evening for all who joined us. Thank you Deanna for your great performance.
Sitting next to me during the sunset sail was a wonderful woman. It was fun to talk to her and I coaxed her for a turn at the wheel. Not only is she a sailor but she is also a pilot. It was nice to meet you Marjorie.
Another great day of sailing and only a few left to go. Thanks for sailing with us everyone and we’ll see you soon!
