The History of Annapolis – City on the Severn

August 5 @ 6:30 pm - 8:30 pm

Schooner Sailing up the Severn River

Annapolis has a rich and fascinating history, from its founding in 1649 as “Providence,” to the Golden Age of the 1760’s and 70’s, to serving as the first peacetime capital of the United States, to the founding of the U.S. Naval Academy, and onward to today. You’ll get an introduction to the city’s past as we admire the skyline and waterways where it all happened.

  • History Monday Sunset Sails occur every Monday, May-September 22.
  • Different topics and speakers vary throughout the season.
  • Our bar includes a selection of Craft Beer, Wine & Bubbly available for purchase!
  • Tickets go on sale six days prior to the date you want to sail.

Michael Bors is an Annapolis native, history enthusiast, and lover of being on the water. During the school year, he is a PhD candidate in philosophy at the Catholic University of America (Washington, DC). During the summers, he gives historical, boat, and drinks tours through Tour Annapolis, a small business he started to share his love of Annapolis with the world.
