June Wine in the Wind: A Tour of Bordeaux

Join us for a three hour sail around the Bay sampling wonderful wines: A tour of Bordeaux with Patrick De Abreu.  This representative from the winery will introduce you to these special wines. The cruise will be a relaxing sail including 3-oz samples of each of the four wines featured. Along with each wine is a delicious, perfectly paired bite (we call them magnificent morsels) to go with each wine.  After the sampling, there will be a small afternoon appetizer buffet that will pair well with any wines you would like to purchase by the glass to enjoy on the rest of your sail.  Includes a take-home, boat friendly, wine glass by Go Vino with the Woodwind’s logo on it. Depart Annapolis at 2:00pm, return at 5:00pm.

Price: $109 per person. Maximum 35 guests.

2014 Chateau Recougne White, 80% Semilon, 20% Sauvignon Blanc
This Right Bank Estate has produced wines for 400 years. This white blend is a summer classic with beautiful citrus aromas. Bright, crisp and refreshing on the palette. Paired with Chicken on a Minted Pea Puree Sauce

2012 Chateau Bire, Bordeaux Superior, 50% Merlot, 40% Cabernet, 10% Cabernet Franc
A nicely balanced wine high lighting the ripe dark berry flavors of Merlot and the firm structure of the Cabernet grapes.  Paired with Peppercorn Crusted Smoked Bluefish with a Horseradish Cream

2013 Cheval Noir, Bordeaux, Saint Emilion
A blend of Merlot and Cabernet Franc. Balanced and elegant framed by soft tannins and ripe plum flavors.  Paired with a Grilled Lamb Chop with Fresh Herbs

2012 Chateau La Couronne Grand Cru Saint Emilion
Merlot based with a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc.  Juicy and well structured with harmoniously integrated tannins. A lingering finish of cassis and black pepper. Paired with Coffee-Rubbed Steak over Golden Beets
