Captain Jen fell in love with this winery’s location, wine and people that work at Black Ankle Winery.
Black Ankle Vineyards is the culmination of a long-time dream of founders Ed Boyce and Sarah O’Herron. They believe that the central Maryland Piedmont, sitting at the foothills of the Appalachian Mountains, has the right mix of rolling hills, rocky, low-fertility soils, regular breezes, sunshine and rain to be the home of some truly delicious wines — wines that express the land in which they are grown, enhance the food they accompany, and most important of all are a joy to drink.
Light House Bistro completes the team making all of the food from scratch with local ingredients.
Details
- Departs from Annapolis at 6:30pm and returns at 8:30pm.
- Tickets include dinner and taxes, a 5-ounce pour of Rosé to welcome you aboard (after sails are raised) and 5-ounce wine pours for the first two courses, plus a 3oz. pour of the Terra Dulce IX to go with the delicious dessert course.
- Includes a take-home, boat friendly, wine glass by GoVino with the Woodwind’s logo on it.
- Maximum 30 guests.
- Schooner Woodwind’s Dinner Cruises are a very casual affair.
- Courses are served picnic-style and food is presented chilled or at room temperature. You will thoroughly enjoy the event aboard.
- We really do sail, so wear soft soled shoes. And please, feel free to raise the sails, steer the boat, or sit back and relax.

2023 Albariño Sur (White): Local Seared Rockfish Ceviche with Citrus Cucumber Relish served with Corn Tortilla Chips (For the spicy lover, a side of Roasted Corn & Jalapeno Salsa will be included.) This wine goes great with spicy food.
2021 Rolling Hills (Red): Pan Roasted Lamb Chop over Grilled Squash and Farro Salad and topped with Gremolata. Served with an Artesian Dinner Roll and whipped butter.
Terra Dulce IX (Dessert): Terra Deluce IX infused Chocolate Cupcake with Dark Chocolate Mousse and Strawberry Drizzle
All courses served chilled.
