Thomas Guay is the author of Chesapeake Bound, a historical novel set in the uneasy years just before the American Revolution. Set between 1763 and 1765, the novel follows indentured servants on a perilous voyage to America, where storms, sickness, betrayal, and even Barbary corsairs test their hopes for a better life—only to find themselves on the brink of revolution.
Tom spent years interpreting colonial history as a guide at the Charles Carroll House in Annapolis and has sailed the Chesapeake Bay for more than two decades. Today he runs Eco-Ed Endeavors, taking students and adults onto the water to study the Bay’s wildlife and changing ecosystem.

The Life & Times of Chesapeake Bound (1763–1765)
On the waters of Annapolis Harbor, you can almost see tensions rising in the years before the American Revolution. The Stamp Act of 1765 sparked violent mob protests in the city and its harbor, and in 1774, the Sons of Liberty again took to the streets to punish a merchant who defied the tea embargo.
Join author Thomas Guay aboard the Woodwind to hear the real stories behind Chesapeake Bound, his historical novel set on the Chesapeake and the perilous Atlantic voyage that shaped it all.
