DESCRIPTION:With the release of  “…Beneath Potomac Skies”  –  a 12-song\, full-band collection of moments and memories culled from time spent in Washington DC\, and many other locales – singer/songwriter/saxophonist Ken Francis Wenzel is eager to introduce his own roots-rock\, country jazz-tinged take on love\, learning\, and life in contemporary America. Featuring several guest appearances from some of the DC area’s finest musicians\, “…Beneath Potomac Skies” is the long-awaited follow-up to Ken’s 2010 debut acoustic EP\, “…This is Cross Kentucky”. With a slightly raw voice and sparse acoustic guitar\, that EP showcased the perspective and passions of a well traveled\, yet still searching singer/songwriter – one with a somewhat different story and background than most. \nBorn and raised in Champaign\, Illinois\, Ken studied classical saxophone at the University of Illinois before graduating from UNLV in Las Vegas\, NV with a degree in jazz studies. He spent the next decade playing all over the world: in Las Vegas casinos; on cruise ships in Northern Europe\, Africa\, and Asia; at Universal Studios in Osaka\, Japan; on national tours of Broadway musicals; at festivals including the 2004 Montreux Jazz Festival and 2010 Chicago Blues Festival; and of course\, in countless clubs and small venues. All the while\, he worked as an in-demand freelancer\, playing saxophone with artists both locally and nationally – including\, among many others\, Frankie Avalon\, Ben Vereen\, Bobby Parker\, and Carlos Santana. \nIn 2007\, tiring of the endless grind of freelancing and the narrow branding brought on by being considered “just” a saxophonist\, Ken decided to buy himself an acoustic guitar. DESCRIPTION:Dirk Schwenk is an award winning singer-songwriter from the great state of Maryland. His formal training includes years of clarinet and symphonic band\, but he found rock and roll as a late-addition bass player in the High School talent show\, and never went back. Over the years he has performed with many popular bands in the Baltimore/Washington area both as a bandleader\, member\, and freelance musician. He will play for over an hour and after the performance\, we will set sail on the 74-foot\, classic wooden schooner\, Woodwind and sail back to the dock. Raise the sails\, steer the boat\, sit back\, relax and meet Tony while sailing the Bay. \nRaised in Waterford\, Michigan\, Lucca began singing at age 3; by 12 he was writing and playing in Detroit-area bands. As a teen\, he lived in Orlando\, Florida\, where he worked for four seasons on the Disney Channel’s “Mickey Mouse Club” alongside such future superstars as Britney Spears\, Christina Aguilera\, and *Nsync’s Justin Timberlake and JC Chasez. His formal training includes years of clarinet and symphonic band\, but he found rock and roll as a late-addition bass player in the High School talent show\, and never went back. DESCRIPTION:Join us for a two hour sail around the Chesapeake Bay while sampling wonderful wines from the Tuscany Region.  The representative from the winery will introduce you to four special wines while we are under sail. The cruise will be a relaxing sail including 3-oz samples of each of the four wines featured. In the old days a gentleman’s wealth was displayed by the height of is tower. Today six of the towers remain. This is Tuscany’s white wine\, light bodied\, crisp and clean.\nPaired with Shrimp Scampi with Garlic Crumbs \nZiobaffa Toscana\, Sangiovese: From certified organic vineyards. SUMMARY:Acoustic Sunset Sail with Paul Pfau
DESCRIPTION:An Intimate\, All Ages Acoustic Show with PAUL PFAU aboard the Schooner Woodwind for a concert on a beautiful sailing boat. \nNashville’s Paul Pfau (rhymes with “wow”) is a modern-day troubadour\, a skilled and eager listener\, with a gift for setting the truths of love\, life and loss to music.  His talent for taking in and re-interpreting life’s narrative was honed in six months of personal silence brought on by a threatening polyp on his vocal chords. \nDuring this period of forced quiet\, Pfau made ends meet by playing guitar in other bands\, and by studying the stories of others.  His musical inspiration was drawn from his parents relationship\, and from the great music of 70s singer-songwriters like James Taylor\, as well as current artists like John Mayer and Dave Matthews.  Upon healing\, Pfau took his talents to Season 8 of The Voice\, where as a member of Team Pharrell\, he was fortunate enough to work with and be mentored by the likes of Lionel Richie and Nate Ruess (fun.\, The Format). \nA maximum of 35 guests will be able to enjoy this really special event! \nWe do sail rain or shine. If the musicians cannot play due to the weather\, but we can still sail- we will refund the performance part of the ticket. \nDeparts from the Annapolis Waterfront Hotel. \nThere are no assigned seats.
