His songs have been heard on TV shows such as One Tree Hill\, Degrassi\, Switched at Birth\, and Teen Mom. His most recent single\, “This Is Why I Need You”\, reached the top 10 in 12 different countries\, and has been streamed more than 13 million times. It is currently on rotation on the Sirius/XM Coffeehouse Channel. \nBeyond his music career\, Ruben is highly active in philanthropic endeavors. He has run the NYC Marathon three times for The Christopher and Dana Reeve Foundation\, the largest non-profit devoted to spinal chord injuries\, and twice to raise money and awareness for Lyme Disease research. He is also the founder of The We Can Project\, an initiative for elementary and middle school students designed to help them discover their passion and give back to their communities. So far\, more than 500\,000 students across the US and Canada have participated. To promote the program\, he was recently invited to perform live on The Today Show. \n  \nEnjoy a light brunch as we cruise to a secluded cove\, including Apple Cake\, Bacon & Swiss and Artichoke with Red Pepper Quiche Squares and a refreshing fresh\, fruit salad. He will play for about an hour and after the performance we will set sail on the 74-foot\, classic wooden schooner\, Woodwind. \nRaise the sails\, steer the boat\, sit back\, relax and meet Jay while sailing the Bay. \nNatalia Zukerman\nJay Nash’s music is like the river that raised him—strong and deep\, with a little bit of lullaby and a big damn current. Twenty years ago\, he played loud in bars along the Saint Lawrence River\, in the reaches of New York so far-flung they’re almost Canadian. For the last decade\, he’s journeyed the US and Europe solo\, selling over 60\,000 records without ever putting ink on a conventional record deal. Now in the green mountains\, the quiet cold of winter rarefies wit and musicianship into the kind of Americana that knows where it comes from. \n  \nLight Brunch Menu: \nApple Cake\, Bacon & Swiss and Pesto Quiche Squares and a refreshing fruit salad. Mimosas and Bloody Marys will be available at our cash bar filled with local craft beer and wine. \nA maximum of 35 guests will be able to enjoy this really special event! We do sail rain or shine. If the musicians cannot play due to the weather\, but we can still sail- we will refund the performance part of the ticket.  There are no assigned seats. There are no refunds or exchanges unless the captain cancels the cruise due to unsafe conditions. \nDeparts from the Annapolis Waterfront Hotel. \nHave any old instruments you want to go to a good home?  We have partnered with Music 4 More\, a 501(c)3 charity organization that launched in Baltimore in 2007 (now based in Annapolis\, MD)\, and we will have a drop off that day for any instruments you would like to donate! Their primary focus is collecting instrument donations\, repairing and reintroducing them into struggling schools and music therapy programs for veterans. Since their launch\, Music 4 More has donated over 700 instruments to schools and VA hospitals in 13 states.  \n \nMusic 4 More accepts instruments in any shape (Currently we are not taking donations of pianos/organs or sheet music). Music moved me to dance and sing at a very young age–I am indeed the family ham! \nI wrote and recorded my first official album in 2004 called “I Am”\, which enabled me to tour the country opening for bands such as: Maroon5\, Dave Mathews Band\, Hanson\, Blues Traveler\, OAR\, Gavin Degraw and many others. My music has been featured in several TV shows and movies –> “Scrubs”\, “One Tree Hill”\, “Sopranos”\, “Life As We Know It” among others. I had the privilege of writing music for HBO and several Hilton commercial campaigns including the 2008 Olympics\, where they used my song “Speed Feels Better”. \nI learned piano around age 10 and guitar around 18 — I wrote songs every several years when falling for a girl prevented me from sleeping. My favorite form of writing is in the moment though… many call freestyling—when I narrate either the current moment or various other experiences with rhyme off the top of my head-> it’s a mind bending rollercoaster that ignites my mind\, body\, and spirit….and seems to do the same for the audience 🙂  \nI released my new album\, “Eleven” on May 4th 2015 –> eleven years to the day since “I Am”. I wrote and produced this one … quite an epic undertaking and learning experience. I’m excited to be touring again and continuing my journey with one mission- to ignite the human spirit in myself and others through music. \nLight Brunch Menu: \nApple Cake\, Bacon & Swiss and Artichoke with Red Pepper Quiche Squares and a refreshing fruit salad. Low alcohol\, light bodied and slightly effervescent with flavors of stone fruit.\nPaired with Shrimp and Scallop Ceviche with a Tortilla Chip \nTelmo Rodriguez Basa Rueda: Telmo is on the forefront of Biodynamic farming in Spain. This wine is a blend of Verdejho and Vuira\, fermented in cement tank on its wild yeast. A very expressive wine with crisp ripe fruit.\nPaired with Serrano Ham Topped Crostini \nTelmo Rodriguez Al Muvedre: This is old vine head pruned Monestrel fermented on its wild test in cement tank. This grape went from Spain to France courtesy of the port of Mourvèdre. When it showed up in wooden boxes stamped Mourvèdre the French naturally thought it was the grape name. Thus a new varietal was born.\nPaired with a Grilled Beef Skewer brushed with a Fig Glaze  \nDominum QP\, Rioja: Rioja\, where Tempranillo is king. This is a wine of amazing food versatility. DESCRIPTION:Established in 2007\, the vineyards at Dodon are fortuitously situated on rolling hills just south of Davidsonville\, Maryland. When they began their first experiments with 150 vines\, the goal was clear: to practice sustainable agriculture and produce exceptional wines. As ninth generation custodians of this historic farmland\, and as demanding winemakers\, they are committed to using viticultural practices and winemaking techniques that permit full expression of the unique deep sandy loam ‘Dodon Series Soils’ that lend their wines distinctive aromatics and subtle minerality. \n\n\n\n  \nUsing only grapes grown on their farm\, their vineyard and winemaking techniques emphasize individual attention to each cluster and protecting the quality of the fruit. They believe that deep soils and abundance of Southern Maryland sun are the keys to producing rich\, balanced\, aromatic wines. In other words\, it is the unique qualities of the site that determine the product (“vins de terroir”)\, not a winemaker with a strong stylistic vision (“vins d’effort”). The result is a combination of old world and new world style that is particular to this area of Southern Maryland. \n\n\n\nSchooner Woodwind’s Dinner Cruises are a very casual affair. Courses are served picnic-style and food is presented chilled or at room temperature. You will thoroughly enjoy the event aboard. We really do sail\, so wear soft soled shoes. And please\, feel free to raise the sails\, steer the boat\, or sit back and relax. \nDeparts from Annapolis at 6:30pm and return at 9:00pm.  Tickets are $109 per adult and include dinner and taxes\, four 4-ounce wine pours\, soda and water. SUMMARY:Sunset Sail with Matt Bednarsky
DESCRIPTION:His unique style draws influence from a variety of genres including pop/rock\, folk\, jazz\, and blues. Think somewhere in between James Taylor and John Mayer with Ryan Adams and Michael Bublé mixed in. \nBorn to a jazz guitarist and music teacher father and a mother with a classical pedigree\, Matt grew up in Shelton\, CT engulfed in music. He began violin at the age of 4 (soon after left behind)\, guitar at age 8\, and started singing probably not long after he could make farm animal noises.  He first put pen to paper in songwriting at the age of 12. \nMatt attended New York University and studied Spanish\, Italian\, Portuguese\, psychology\, and music.  After studying abroad in Italy\, graduating from NYU\, and living at an orphanage in Trujillo\, Peru for eight months\, he eventually found himself back in NYC and immersed in Greenwich Village’s singer/songwriter community.  However\, it wasn’t long until he made the move to Nashville in 2013 to dive into Music City’s vibrant scene. \nSince then\, Matt’s been full steam ahead. He’s released three full-length studio albums\, “A Bigger Picture” (in part executive produced by Ed Cash) in 2014\, “Two” (co-produced with Gus Berry) in 2015\, and “Luminescence” (co-produced with Neilson Hubbard) in 2017. \nHe’s toured the country and the world\, playing to audiences in the U.S.\, Canada\, Europe\, and Australia. He opened for legendary British artist Joan Armatrading on multiple engagements during her final major tour as well as soulful American Idol Season 9 Runner-Up Crystal Bowersox. He was named a 2015 Artist of the Year by Concerts In Your Home.
