In 2012\, Lucca took third place on NBC’s “The Voice\,” earning himself a record deal with coach Adam Levine’s 222 Records. He has toured alongside such artists as Sara Bareilles\, Jonny Lang\, Maroon 5\, Kelly Clarkson\, Rachael Yamagata\, Emerson Hart\, and Gabe Dixon. His songs have been heard on TV shows such as One Tree Hill\, Degrassi\, Switched at Birth\, and Teen Mom. His most recent single\, “This Is Why I Need You”\, reached the top 10 in 12 different countries\, and has been streamed more than 13 million times. It is currently on rotation on the Sirius/XM Coffeehouse Channel. \nBeyond his music career\, Ruben is highly active in philanthropic endeavors. He has run the NYC Marathon three times for The Christopher and Dana Reeve Foundation\, the largest non-profit devoted to spinal chord injuries\, and twice to raise money and awareness for Lyme Disease research. Music moved me to dance and sing at a very young age–I am indeed the family ham! \nI wrote and recorded my first official album in 2004 called “I Am”\, which enabled me to tour the country opening for bands such as: Maroon5\, Dave Mathews Band\, Hanson\, Blues Traveler\, OAR\, Gavin Degraw and many others. My music has been featured in several TV shows and movies –> “Scrubs”\, “One Tree Hill”\, “Sopranos”\, “Life As We Know It” among others. I had the privilege of writing music for HBO and several Hilton commercial campaigns including the 2008 Olympics\, where they used my song “Speed Feels Better”. \nI learned piano around age 10 and guitar around 18 — I wrote songs every several years when falling for a girl prevented me from sleeping. My favorite form of writing is in the moment though… many call freestyling—when I narrate either the current moment or various other experiences with rhyme off the top of my head-> it’s a mind bending rollercoaster that ignites my mind\, body\, and spirit….and seems to do the same for the audience 🙂  \nI released my new album\, “Eleven” on May 4th 2015 –> eleven years to the day since “I Am”. I wrote and produced this one … quite an epic undertaking and learning experience. DESCRIPTION:Announcing a Schooner Woodwind exclusive event!  \nThe influences of being on the water\, enjoying great food and beverage can create great memories.  However\, when you combine those two elements with live music you are now on a journey. \nWe invite you to join us as Captain Jen navigates us out of Annapolis Harbor for a 4 hour adventure you will not soon forget!  You will be aboard a beautiful 74 foot schooner enjoying a selection of gourmet food prepared by Palate Pleasers paired with craft beverages created by Blackwater Distillery in Kent Island. The cruise will start by motoring into a secluded cove for a nice intimate experience with Jay Nash\, and then followed by a interactive\, sailing experience back to downtown Annapolis. \nFor this event Schooner Woodwind is partnering with Buncearoo Presents to feature Jay Nash\, a singer/songwriter/producer from Vermont.  Jay brings the connective power of music to each show which makes every event a unique experience.  His music is like the river that raised him – strong and deep\, with a little bit of lullaby and a big damn current.  For the last decade\, he’s journeyed the US and Europe\, selling over 60\,000 records without ever putting ink on a conventional record deal.  Jay seeks the connection\, the harmony\, between the music he creates and the audience that listens. \nCome sail into a truly memorable occasion where the music\, the water and the experience become one. We were so excited to hear that he wanted to come back to Annapolis and go for a sail! \nTony Lucca will play acoustically while at anchor in a secluded cove. He will play for over an hour and after the performance we will set sail on the 74-foot\, classic wooden schooner\, Woodwind. Raise the sails\, steer the boat\, sit back\, relax and meet Tony while sailing the Bay. \nRaised in Waterford\, Michigan\, Lucca began singing at age 3; by 12 he was writing and playing in Detroit-area bands. As a teen\, he lived in Orlando\, Florida\, where he worked for four seasons on the Disney Channel’s “Mickey Mouse Club” alongside such future superstars as Britney Spears\, Christina Aguilera\, and *Nsync’s Justin Timberlake and JC Chasez. Lucca went the Internet route and sold his first two independent releases through his own website.
